Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4196 — I have come to you to ask for a ruling

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ دِرْهَمٍ، أَنَّ دِرْهَمًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: جِئْتُكَ أَسْتَفْتِيكَ فِي الْغَزْوِ، قَالَ: «لَكَ أُمٌّ؟» ، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَالْزَمْهَا»
Sayyiduna Dirham (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I have come to you to ask for a ruling about going out on jihad." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have a mother (living)?" He said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then stay with her."
