Abu Zabyan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) went on a military expedition in the land of the Romans. When his illness became severe, he said: When I die, carry me with you, and when you line up in ranks facing the enemy, bury me beneath your feet, for I will narrate to you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); were I not in this condition, I would not have narrated it to you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever dies bearing witness that there is no true god except Allah will enter Paradise."

Abu Zabyan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his elders; they said: We were with Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) in the land of the Romans. He fell ill and gave us his final instruction: Carry me, until, when you line up in ranks facing the enemy, bury me beneath your feet. Then he said: I will narrate to you a hadith; were I not in this condition, I would not have narrated it to you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever dies not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise."
