حَدَّثَنَا، الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ أَشْيَاخٍ، لَهُمْ قَالُوا: كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ فِي أَرْضِ الرُّومِ فَمَرِضَ فَأَوْصَانَا: احْمِلُونِي حَتَّى إِذَا صَافَفْتُمُ الْعَدُوَّ ادْفِنُونِي تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِكُمْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي مُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا لَوْلَا أَنِّي عَلَى هَذِهِ مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمُوهُ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ مَاتَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»
Abu Zabyan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his elders; they said: We were with Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) in the land of the Romans. He fell ill and gave us his final instruction: Carry me, until, when you line up in ranks facing the enemy, bury me beneath your feet. Then he said: I will narrate to you a hadith; were I not in this condition, I would not have narrated it to you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever dies not associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise."
