حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَكِيعِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَادٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ، عَنْ حِزَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: خَطَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النِّسَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، فَوَعَظَهُنَّ وَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ وَالطَّاعَةِ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنِّ وَأَنْ يَتَصَدَّقْنَ، وَقَالَ: «وَإِنَّ مِنْكُنَّ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ - وَجَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ - وَجُلُّكُنَّ حَطَبُ جَهَنَّمَ» فَفَرَّقَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ، فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ: وَلِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «لِأَنَّكُنَّ تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ، وَتَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ، وَتُسَوِّفْنَ الْخَيْرَ»
Hizam bin Hakim narrated from his father: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the women. He admonished them and commanded them to fear Allah, to obey their husbands and to give charity, and he said: "Among you are some who will enter Paradise" (and he (peace and blessings be upon him) joined his fingers together) "and most of you will be fuel for Hell" (and he (peace and blessings be upon him) spread his fingers apart). A woman said: Why, O Messenger of Allah? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because you curse a great deal, you are ungrateful to your husbands, and you procrastinate in doing good."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ حِزَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: اشْتَرَيْتُ طَعَامًا مِنْ طَعَامِ الصَّدَقَةِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرَبِحْتُ فِيهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَسْتَوفِيَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: لَا أَبِيعُهُ حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا تَبِعْهُ حَتَّى تَقْبِضَهُ»
Hizam bin Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his father, who said: I bought some grain from the charity grain from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and made a profit on it before I had received it. So I said to myself: I will not sell it until I ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not sell it until you have taken possession of it."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ هِشَامٍ أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ حِزَامِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَصْبَحْتُمْ فِي زَمَانٍ كَثِيرٍ فُقَهَاؤُهُ، قَلِيلٍ خُطَبَاؤُهُ، كَثِيرٍ مُعْطُوهُ، قَلِيلٍ سُؤَّالُهُ، الْعَمَلُ فِيهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ، وَسَيَأْتِي زَمَانٌ قَلِيلٌ فُقَهَاؤُهُ، كَثِيرٌ خُطَبَاؤُهُ، كَثِيرٌ سُؤَّالُهُ، قَلِيلٌ مُعْطُوهُ، الْعِلْمُ فِيهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ»
Hizam bin Hakim bin Hizam narrated from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are in a time in which the jurists are many and the orators are few, those who give are many and those who ask are few; in it, action is better than knowledge. And soon a time will come in which the jurists will be few and the orators many, those who ask will be many and those who give few; in it, knowledge will be better than action."
