حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَيُّمَا عَبْدٌ أَبَقَ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any slave who runs away, the obligation of protection towards him has ended."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ» ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُبَيْلٍ
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a slave runs away, Allah's obligation of protection towards him has ended." And al-Mughirah bin Shubayl is not mentioned in this narration.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا أَنْ دَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَخْتُ رَاحِلَتِي، ثُمَّ حَلَلْتُ عَيْبَتِي، فَلَبِسْتُ حُلَّتِي، فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرَمَانِي النَّاسُ بِالْحَدَقِ، فَقُلْتُ لِجَلِيسِي: يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ هَلْ ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ أَمْرِي شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ذَكَرَكَ بِأَحْسَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ، إِذْ عَرَضَ لَهُ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُ سَيَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ، أَوْ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ مِنْ خَيْرِ ذِي يُمْنٍ أَلَا، وَإِنَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ مَسْحَةَ مَلَكٍ» قَالَ: «فَحَمِدْتُ اللهَ عَلَى مَا أَبْلَانِي»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When I drew near to Madinah, I made my mount kneel, then I opened my bag and put on my fine garment, then I came into the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam, and the people stared at me. I said to the man sitting beside me: O servant of Allah! Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mention anything about me? He said: Yes, he mentioned you in the finest way. Once, while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon, something occurred to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in his sermon: "Soon there will enter upon you, through this mountain pass or through this door, one of the best of Dhu Yaman. Listen! On his face there will be the radiance of an angel." He said: So I praised Allah for the blessing He had bestowed upon me.
