Hadith 2450

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيَّ وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»

Ziyad bin Ilaqah said: I heard Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit saying: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) made it a condition upon me to have sincere goodwill towards every Muslim."

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرًا، يَقُولُ: إِنِّي أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ: «يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ، فَبَايَعَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيَّ وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَبَايَعْتُهُ عَلَى هَذَا»

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I pledge allegiance to you on emigration (hijrah)." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took my pledge, and he stipulated for me sincere goodwill towards every Muslim, so I pledged allegiance to him (peace and blessings be upon him) on that.

Hadith 2452

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، أنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَرِيرًا يَقُولُ: «بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيَّ وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ» فَوَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَجْمَعِينَ "

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) stipulated for me sincere goodwill towards every Muslim." By the Lord of the Ka'bah, I am sincere in my goodwill towards all of you.

حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا شَيْبَانُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرًا، يَقُولُ: «بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدَيَّ هَذِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَشَرَطَ عَلَيَّ النُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ» فَوَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ إِنِّي لَنَاصِحٌ لَكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ "

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on Islam with these two hands of mine, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) stipulated for me sincere goodwill towards every Muslim." By the Lord of the Ka'bah, I am sincere in my goodwill towards all of you.

Hadith 2455

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on establishing the prayer, paying the zakah, and sincere goodwill towards every Muslim." And I am sincere in my goodwill towards you.

Hadith 2458

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، وَيُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، قَالَا: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ، يَقُولُ: أُوصِيكُمْ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ، وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكُمْ أَمِيرٌ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْمُغِيرَةَ، فَقَالَ: اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ عَفَا اللهُ عَنْكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحِبُّ الْعَافِيَةَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ: «وَالنُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»

Ziyad bin Ilaqah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), on the day al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah died, saying: I enjoin you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey until a governor comes to you. The narrator said: Then he mentioned al-Mughirah and said: Seek forgiveness for him, may Allah pardon you, for he loved well-being. Then he said: To proceed: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance to him on Islam, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And on sincere goodwill towards every Muslim as well."

ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى زَحْمُوَيْهِ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «بَايَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ، وَالنَّصِيحَةِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ، فَبَايَعْتُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»

Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took our pledge on listening and obeying, and on sincere goodwill towards every Muslim, so I pledged allegiance to him (peace and blessings be upon him) on Islam and sincere goodwill towards every Muslim."

ثنا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ»

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy is not shown mercy."

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy is not shown mercy, whoever does not forgive is not forgiven, and whoever does not repent, his repentance is not accepted."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحُصَيْنِ، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَا يَغْفِرُ اللهُ لِمَنْ لَا يَغْفِرُ، وَلَا يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ»

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Allah does not forgive the one who does not forgive, and Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي حَبْرٌ بِالْيَمَنِ: إِنْ كَانَ صَاحِبُكُمْ نَبِيًّا، فَقَدْ مَاتَ، قَالَ: «فَمَاتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ»

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A scholar (habr) in Yemen said to me: If your companion is a prophet, then he has died. He said: And indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away on a Monday.

Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me, he could not help but smile."
