حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ جَرْهَدٍ، أَنَّ النِّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ: «غَطِّ فَخِذَكَ فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Cover your thigh, for the thigh is part of the awrah (what must be covered)."

Hadith 2126

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا كَاشِفٌ فَخِذِي، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «غَطِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ الْعَوْرَةِ»

Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while my thigh was uncovered, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cover it, for it is part of the awrah."

Hadith 2127

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ، قَالَا: ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي زُرْعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ جَرْهَدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ وَفَخِذُهُ مَكْشُوفَةٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «غَطِّ فَخِذَكَ يَا جَرْهَدُ، فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

It is narrated from the grandson of Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), from his grandfather Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him while his thigh was uncovered, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Jarhad, cover your thigh, for the thigh is awrah."

Hadith 2129

Hadith 2130

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ جَرْهَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ قَالَ: جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَنَا وَفَخِذِي مُنْكَشِفَةٌ، فَقَالَ: «أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ؟»

Zur'ah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Jarhad narrated from his father that Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) was one of the People of the Suffah. He said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat with us while my thigh was uncovered, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that the thigh is awrah?"

Hadith 2131

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، أَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَسَ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ فَرَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخِذَهُ مَكْشُوفَةً، فَقَالَ: «خَمِّرْ فَخِذَكَ فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

It is narrated from the grandson of Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat with him - and he was one of the People of the Suffah - and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw his thigh uncovered and said: "Cover your thigh, for the thigh is awrah."

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَنَا يَوْمًا وَفَخِذِي مَكْشُوفَةٌ، فَقَالَ: «خَمِّرْ عَلَيْكَ، أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

Zur'ah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Jarhad narrated from his father, who was one of the People of the Suffah, that he said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat with us one day while my thigh was uncovered, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cover yourself; do you not know that the thigh is awrah?"

Hadith 2133

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا سَالِمٌ أَبُو النَّضْرِ، حَدَّثَنِي زُرْعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ جَرْهَدٍ، قَالَ: مَرَّ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ قَدِ انْكَشَفَتْ فَخِذِي، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «غَطِّ فَخِذَكَ يَا جَرْهَدُ فَإِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ»

It is narrated from the grandson of Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), from his grandfather, who said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was in the mosque, wearing a cloak from which my thigh had become uncovered, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Jarhad, cover your thigh, for the thigh is awrah."

Abd al-Malik bin Jarhad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him while his thigh was uncovered, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cover it, for it is part of the awrah."

Hadith 2135

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَامِرِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا حَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «فَخِذُ الرَّجُلِ مِنَ الْعَوْرَةِ»

Abd al-Rahman bin Jarhad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's thigh is part of the awrah."

Hadith 2136

Abdullah bin Jarhad al-Aslami (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his father, Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The thigh of a Muslim man is part of his awrah."

Hadith 2137

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ، يَقُولُ: «الْفَخِذُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ عَوْرَةٌ، وَفِي الْحَمَّامِ لَيْسَتْ بِعَوْرَةٍ»

Imam al-Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "In the mosque the thigh is awrah, and in the bathhouse it is not awrah."

Hadith 2138

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ بَعْضِ بَنِي جَرْهَدٍ، عَنْ جَرْهَدٍ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ طَعَامٌ، فَأَدْنَى جَرْهَدٌ يَدَهُ الشِّمَالَ لِيَأْكُلَ، وَكَانَتِ الْيُمْنَى مُصَابَةً، فَقَالَ: «كُلْ بِالْيَمِينِ» ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا مُصَابَةٌ، فَنَفَثَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَمَا شَكَى حَتَّى مَاتَ

It is narrated from a member of the family of Sayyiduna Jarhad that Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while there was food before him (peace and blessings be upon him). Jarhad reached out his left hand to eat, since his right hand was injured, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat with the right hand." He said: O Messenger of Allah, it is injured. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) blew over it (with ruqyah), and after that he felt no pain in it until he died.
