Description of Sa'd bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him)

Isma'il bin Muhammad bin Sa'd said: Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) had curly hair, a very hairy body, a wheat-coloured complexion, was tall, and had a flat nose.

Aishah bint Sa'd said: My father was a short, stout man with a large head and thick fingers, and he had taken part in Badr.

It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib that Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to dye his hair with black dye.

It is narrated from Amir bin Sa'd that Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) used to dye his hair with black dye.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Badr, I, Ammar and Sa'd were partners in the spoils; Sa'd got two captives, while Ammar and I came away empty-handed.

Sa'id bin al-Musayyib said: I heard Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: "No one accepted Islam except on the very day on which I accepted Islam, and I remained for seven days as one-third of Islam (that is, one of three Muslims)."
