حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلُّويَةَ الْقَطَّانُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَائِشَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، ثنا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ: «التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us the tashahhud just as he would teach us a surah of the Qur'an: "All verbal, physical and monetary acts of worship are for Allah alone. O Prophet, peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger."
