Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9413 — the person closest to Sayyiduna Abdullah

Abu Ishaq Abdullah bin Budayl narrates that the person closest to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) (and most privy to his affairs) told him that he used to say: "When the sun passed its zenith, he would stand and pray four rak'ahs, reciting in them two of the surahs of about a hundred verses each. Then, when the mu'adhdhins answered one another (calling the adhan), he would fasten his garments upon himself and then go out to the prayer."
