It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) and a woman of Quraysh that they both heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allahummaghfir li dhunubi wa khata'i wa 'amdi (O Allah, forgive me my sins, my mistakes and what I did deliberately)."
And the other (narrator) said: I also heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allahumma inni astahdika li-arshadi amri, wa a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi (O Allah, I ask You to guide me to what is most right in my affairs, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self)."
