Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8300 — One day Uthman bin Abi al-As came out

Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: One day Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) came out to us and said: "I have found the Muslim man between two needs: a need of this world which he cannot do without, and a need of the Hereafter which he cannot do without; and Allah knows best which of the two needs prevails."
