Sayyiduna Tufayl bin Sakhbarah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the maternal brother of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: I saw in a dream as though I passed by a group of Jews, so I asked: "Who are you?" They said: "We are the Jews." I said: "You would be a fine people were it not that you say Uzayr is the son of Allah." They said: "And you too would be a fine people were it not that you say, 'Whatever Allah wills and Muhammad wills.'" Then I passed by a group of Christians, and I said: "You would be a fine people were it not that you say the Messiah is the son of Allah." They said: "And you too would be a fine people were it not that you say, 'Whatever Allah wills and Muhammad wills.'" When I woke in the morning, I told some people about it, then I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him as well. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you told anyone about it?" I said: "Yes." So when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed the Zuhr prayer, he stood up and delivered a sermon; he praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "Tufayl has seen a dream which he has told to those of you whom he told. You used to say a word which my modesty before you prevented me from forbidding. So do not say now: 'Whatever Allah wills and Muhammad wills.'"
