حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عِقَالٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: كَلِمَاتٌ حَفِظْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَزْدَادُ الْمَالُ إِلَّا إِفَاضَةً، وَلَا يَزْدَادُ النَّاسُ إِلَّا شُحًّا، وَلَا يَزْدَادُ الْأَمْرُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا عَلَى شِرَارِ النَّاسِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: These are words that I memorised from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "The abundance of wealth will only keep increasing, miserliness among people will only keep increasing, matters will only keep growing harsher, and the Hour will be established only upon the worst of people."
