Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7853 — One day the Prophet ﷺ went out

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, and with him (peace and blessings be upon him) were Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding his she-camel al-Jad'a'. When they had gone out, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man saying: Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped to listen. When he said again: Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has borne witness to the truth, by the One in whose hand is my soul!" Then when he said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has become free from Hell, by the One in whose hand is my soul!" He said this three times. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a man who keeps dogs." So Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud and Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) went, and they found him just so.
