حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ السَّرْحِ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، وحَبِيبِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ يَقُولُ: عَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ مَا أَقُولُ عِنْدَ فَرَاغِي مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، فَقَالَ قُلْ: «اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَطْعَمْتَنَا، وَأَرْوَيْتَنَا، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ غَيْرَ مَكْفُورٍ، وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me what to say on finishing a meal. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Say: "O Allah, it is You who fed us and quenched our thirst, so to You belongs all praise, praise that is not met with ingratitude, and, O our Lord, we are never independent of You."
