حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَاقِي الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ، ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ جَعَلَ الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ، وَالْمُقِيمُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set the period for wiping over the leather socks at three days and nights for the traveller and a day and a night for the resident.
