Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7352 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الطَّرَائِفِيُّ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَزَّانُ، ثنا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ الْعِرْقِيُّ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ بَدْرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ عَلَيْنَا، فَأَنْشَأَ يُحَدِّثُنَا: «إِنَّ لِلتَّوْبَةِ بَابًا عَرْضُ مَا بَيْنَ مِصْرَاعَيْهِ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ، لَا يُغْلَقُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا» ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ: {يَوْمَ يَأْتِي بَعْضُ آيَاتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ، أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا} [الأنعام: ١٥٨]
Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and began narrating to us: "Repentance has a door, the width between its two leaves being the distance between the east and the west. It will not be closed until the sun rises from the west." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "On the day some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned some good through its faith." [Surah al-An'am: 158]
