Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7345 — I asked Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal

Zirr bin Hubaysh (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) about wiping, and he said: "When we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we would wipe over them (the leather socks) for three days on a journey, except for major ritual impurity (janabah); but for defecation, urination and sleep (we would wipe)."
