Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal al-Muradi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order us that when we travelled, we should not take off the leather socks for three days and nights except for major ritual impurity (janabah), and he would order us to wipe over them after defecation, urination and sleep.
