حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، قَالَ: شَهِدَ أَبُو بَكْرَةَ، وَنَافِعٌ، وَشِبْلُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ عَلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُمْ نَظَرُوا إِلَيْهِ كَمَا يُنْظَرُ إِلَى الْمِرْوَدِ فِي الْمَكْحَلَةِ، فَجَاءَ زِيَادٌ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: «جَاءَ رَجُلٌ لَا يَشْهَدُ إِلَّا بِحَقٍّ» ، فَقَالَ: رَأَيْتُ مَنْظَرًا قَبِيحًا وَابْتِهارًا قَالَ: «فَجَلَدَهُمْ عُمَرُ الْحَدَّ»
Abu Uthman al-Nahdi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah, Nafi' and Shibl bin Ma'bad (may Allah be pleased with them) testified against al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that they had seen him (in the act) just as the kohl stick is seen in the kohl container. Then Ziyad came, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "A man has come who will testify only to the truth." He said: I saw an ugly sight and heavy breathing. The narrator said: So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had the three witnesses flogged with the prescribed punishment (hadd).
