It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sharik bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you will enter Paradise merely on the basis of deeds." The Companions said: Not even you, O Messenger of Allah? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, unless Allah covers me with mercy."
