Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6936 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُسَاوِرٍ، ثنا عَفَّانُ، ثنا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ هَيَّاجِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: «سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ، وَيَحُثُّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ»
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbidding mutilation (muthlah, cutting the limbs of a body) and urging (people) to give charity.
