حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ إِذَا قَدِمْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ سَأَلَنِي عَنْ رَجُلٍ , وَإِذَا قَدِمْتُ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ سَأَلَنِي عَنْ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ: إِذَا قَدِمْتُ عَلَيْكَ سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْ فُلَانٍ، وَإِذَا قَدِمْتُ عَلَيْهِ سَأَلَنِي عَنْكَ؟ فَقَالَ: كُنْتُ أَنَا وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَفُلَانٌ فِي بَيْتٍ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «آخِرُكُمْ مَوْتًا فِي النَّارِ» فَمَاتَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ أَبُو مَحْذُورَةَ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ الرَّجُلُ
Aws bin Khalid says: Whenever I came to Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him), he would ask me about a certain man, and whenever I came to that man, he would ask me about Abu Mahdhurah. So I said to Abu Mahdhurah: "When I come to you, you ask me about so-and-so, and when I come to him, he asks me about you?" He said: "I, Abu Hurayrah and so-and-so were in a house, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'The one of you who dies last will be in the Fire.'" Then Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, then Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, then that third man died.
