Samurah bin Miyar Abu Mahdhurah al-Jumahi (may Allah be pleased with him), the muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he is Samurah bin Miyar bin Wahb bin Dumus bin Sad bin Jumah; his name is disputed, and Ibn al-Kalbi said his name was Aws bin Miyar

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَاقِي الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنٌ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ: كَيْفَ كُنْتَ تُؤَذِّنُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كُنْتَ تَجْعَلُ آخِرَ أَذَانِكَ؟ قَالَ: كُنْتُ «أُثَنِّي الْأَذَانَ، وَأُثَنِّي الْإِقَامَةَ، وَأَجْعَلُ آخِرَ أذَانِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ»
Al-Aswad narrates: I asked Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him): "How did you give the adhan for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? What did you say at the end of your adhan?" He said: "I used to repeat the adhan (in pairs), and I also repeated the iqamah, and I would say 'La ilaha illallah' at the end of my adhan."
