حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ سَبْرَةَ أَبِي عُبَادَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: «كَانَ خَاتَمُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى هَلَكَ، ثُمَّ فِي يَدِ عُمَرَ حَتَّى هَلَكَ، ثُمَّ فِي يَدِ عُثْمَانَ حَتَّى سَقَطَ فِي بِئْرِ أَرِيسَ»
Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The seal (ring) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) until he passed away, then with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) until he passed away, then with Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) until it fell into the well of Aris.
