Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6501 — In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَزِيزٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، ثنا سَلَامَةُ بْنُ رَوْحٍ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سَبْرَةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ: «اسْتَمْتَعْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ بِبُرْدَيْنِ أَحْمَرَيْنِ، ثُمَّ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sabrah bin Ma'bad (may Allah be pleased with him); he says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I contracted mut'ah with a woman of Banu Amir for two red cloaks. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us mut'ah with women.
