حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنِ الرَّبَابِ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ، فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَعَلَى مَاءٍ، فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir al-Dabbi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you breaks his fast, let him break it on dates; and if he does not find them, then on water, for it is purifying."
