حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ قَالُوا: ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا لِي فِي النِّسَاءِ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ» ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَوِّجْنِيهَا، فَقَالَ: «مَا عِنْدَكَ؟» فَقَالَ: مَا عِنْدِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ، فَقَالَ: «أَعْطِهَا وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ» ، قَالَ: مَا عِنْدِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ، قَالَ: «فَمَا عِنْدَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ؟» قَالَ: كَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَ: «فَقَدْ مَلَّكْتُكَهَا بِمَا عِنْدَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَارِمٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and offered herself to him in marriage, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Today I have no need of women." Then a man said: O Messenger of Allah! Marry her to me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What do you have?" He said: I have nothing. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give her something, even if it is only an iron ring." He said: I have nothing. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you know of the Qur'an?" He said: Such-and-such. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have married her to you for what you have of the Qur'an."
