Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5882 — he said: I used to eat the pre-dawn meal

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: «كُنْتُ أَتَسَحَّرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ مَا يَكُونُ سُرْعَتِي، إِلَّا أَنْ أُدْرِكَ الصُّبْحَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I used to eat the pre-dawn meal (suhur) with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and then my haste would be such that I would catch the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
