حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَدَحٍ فَشَرِبَ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلَامٌ مِنْ أَصْغَرِ الْقَوْمِ، وَالْأَشْيَاخُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا غُلَامُ أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَهِ الْأَشْيَاخَ؟» ، قَالَ: مَا كُنْتُ لِأُوثِرَ بِفَضْلِ فِيكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A cup was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) drank from it. On his (peace and blessings be upon him) right was a boy, the youngest of the people, and on his left were the elders. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O boy, will you permit me to give it to the elders?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, I will not prefer anyone over myself in what is left over from you (as a blessing). So he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it to him.
