حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُهَيْمِنِ بْنِ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: " كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ أَبِي ثَلَاثَةُ أَفْرَاسٍ يَعْلِفُهُنَّ، قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُسَمِّيهِنَّ اللَّدَانَ، وَاللَّحِيفَ، وَالطَّرَبَ "
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had three horses with my father, and he used to feed them." He said: I heard my father calling them by the names al-Ladan, al-Lahif and al-Tarab.
