Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5642 — I heard Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd say

Al-Zuhri says: I heard Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) say: A man peeped from the apartment of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had with him a comb with which he was scratching his head. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had I known that you were waiting for me, I would have thrust this into your eye. Seeking permission has only been prescribed because of the sight."
