حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ: اشْتَكَى قَوْمٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُمْ سَكَنُوا دَارًا وَهُمْ عَدَدٌ، فَفَنَوْا، قَالَ: «فَهَلَّا تَرَكْتُمُوهَا وَهِيَ ذَمِيمَةٌ»
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Harithah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Some people complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that they had settled in a house while they were many in number, and then they perished. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not leave it, since it is undesirable?"
