Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 5231 — A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about a found item (luqatah), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take note of its bag and the cord it is tied with, then announce it for one year. If its owner comes, [give it to him]; otherwise, it is yours."
He asked: What is the ruling on a stray sheep? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf."
He asked: What is the ruling on a stray camel? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What have you to do with it? It has its water-skin and its feet with it; it goes to the water and eats from the trees until its owner finds it."
