حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنْ أُنَيْسَةَ بِنْتِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، أَنَّ زَيْدًا، دَخَلَ عَلَى الْمُخْتَارِ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَامِرٍ لَوْ سَبَقْتَ رَأَيْتَ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ، قَالَ: «حَفَرْتَ وَنَقَرْتَ أَنْتَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَى اللهِ مِنِّي ذَاكَ كَذَّابٌ مُفْتَرٍ عَلَى اللهِ وَعَلَى رَسُولِهِ»
Unaysah bint Zayd bin Arqam relates that Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) went to al-Mukhtar, and he said: "O Abu Amir! Had you come earlier, you would have seen Jibril and Mika'il." Zayd said: "You have dug a pit and fabricated lies; you are more contemptible in the sight of Allah than I am. That one is a liar, fabricating lies against Allah and His Messenger."
