Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 490 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الدَّهَّانُ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا مُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلٍ» . قُلْنَا: وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «لَا وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ» وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ
Sayyiduna Usamah bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "No one will enter Paradise merely on the basis of his deeds." We said: O Messenger of Allah, not even you? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, not even I, unless Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, covers me with His mercy." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his head.
