Rukanah bin Abd Yazid bin Hashim bin al-Muttalib bin Abd Manaf bin Qusayy bin Kilab bin Murrah bin Kab bin Luayy bin Ghalib bin Fihr (may Allah be pleased with him) (his mother was a daughter of al-Ajlan, of Banu Sad bin Layth bin Bakr bin Kinanah; it is said he lived until the time of Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him))

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ الْكِلَابِيُّ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا بِمَكَّةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ عَسْقَلَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ رُكَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رُكَانَةَ صَارَعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَرَعَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ رُكَانَةُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «فَرْقُ مَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ الْعَمَائِمُ عَلَى الْقَلَانِسِ»
The son of Rukanah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Rukanah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrestled with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw him down. Sayyiduna Rukanah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The difference between us and the polytheists is that we tie turbans over caps."
