Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4565 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one day

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِي، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْأَسَدِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي فِرَاسٍ، رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ: «سَلُونِي عَمَّا شِئْتُمْ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَبِي؟ قَالَ: «أَبُوكَ فُلَانٌ الَّذِي تُدْعَى إِلَيْهِ» وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ أَفِي الْجَنَّةِ أَنَا؟ فَقَالَ: «فِي الْجَنَّةِ» وَقَالَ آخَرُ: أَفِي الْجَنَّةِ أَنَا؟ قَالَ: «فِي النَّارِ» فَقَامَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ: رَضِينَا بِاللهِ رِبًا
Abu Firas, a man from the tribe of Aslam, said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said one day: "Ask me whatever you wish." A man said: O Messenger of Allah, who is my father? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your father is so-and-so, to whom you are attributed." A man asked: Will I go to Paradise? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In Paradise." Another man asked: Will I go to Paradise? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In Hell." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: We are pleased with Allah as Lord.
