حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُكْرِيَ الْأَرْضَ بِالثُّلُثِ وَالرُّبُعِ إِذَا كَانَ فِيهَا نَخْلٌ، وَكَانَ يُكْرِي الْأَرْضَ الْبَيْضَاءَ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْوَرِقِ، فَلَقِيَهُ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «نَهَى عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ، وَعَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ، وَالْمُزَابَنَةِ»
Ata' bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) disliked renting out land containing palm trees for a third or a quarter of the produce, but he used to rent out barren land (without trees) for gold and silver. Then Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) met him and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "He (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade renting out land, muhaqalah and muzabanah."
