حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ، عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ الْبَيْضَاءِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟، فَقَالَ: «لَا بَأْسَ إِنَّمَا نَهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْأَرْمَاثِ»
Hanzalah bin Qays (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) about renting out bare (treeless) land for gold and silver, and he said: "There is no harm; he (peace and blessings be upon him) only forbade them from al-armath (a form of sharing in the produce)."
