حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ، عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ؟، فَقَالَ: «نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَرْيِ الْأَرْضِ بِمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا»
Hanzalah bin Qays (may Allah have mercy on him) related that he asked Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) about renting out land, and he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from renting out land in return for what it produces."
