حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُكْرِي الْمَزَارِعَ، فَبَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ يَأْثُرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ بِالْبَلَاطِ فَسَأَلَهُ: فَأَخْبَرَهُ رَافِعٌ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كَرْيِ الْمَزَارِعِ» فَتَرَكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، كِرَاءَهَا
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to rent out farmland. Then he learned that Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) was narrating a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he went to him at al-Balat and asked him, and Rafi' told him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade renting out farmland. So Abdullah gave up renting it out.
