حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، قَالَا: ثنا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْ كَرْيِ الْمَزَارِعِ» ، فَتَرَكَهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَكَانَ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْهَا قَالَ: زَعَمَ رَافِعٌ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) told Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to forbid renting out farmland. So Ibn Umar gave it up, and whenever he was asked about it he would say: Rafi' claims that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it.
