حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طَاهِرِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، ثنا جَدِّي، ثنا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى بَلَغَهُ، أَنَّ رَافِعَ بْنَ خَدِيجٍ، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْأَرْضِ»
Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) told me that his father (Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do that (rent out land) until it reached him that Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade renting out land."
