Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4050 — We said: O Messenger of Allah, this

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: We said: O Messenger of Allah, this is the greeting (salam), so what is isti'nas? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man says one tasbih, one takbir and one tahmid, and clears his throat, so that the people of the house come to know (of his arrival)."
