Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4049 — the Prophet ﷺ said: Isti'nas is that you

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَنْبَسَةَ، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ وَاصِلِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَوْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الِاسْتِئْنَاسُ أَنْ تَدْعُوَ الْخَادِمَ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْنِسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِينَ تَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيْهِمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Isti'nas is that you call out to the servant, so that the people of the house from whom you are seeking permission become aware (of your arrival)."
