حصين بن عتبة أبو عمران بن الحصين الخزاعي وقد اختلف في إسلامه قيل أسلم ويقال مات على كفره، والصحيح أنه أسلم
Husayn bin Utbah al-Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him), father of Imran bin Husayn; his Islam is disputed, some saying he accepted Islam and others that he died a disbeliever, and the correct view is that he accepted Islam

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ قَالَ: جَاءَ حُصَيْنٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ وَيَقْرِي الضَّيْفَ مَاتَ قَبْلَكَ؟، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَبِي وَأَبَاكَ فِي النَّارِ» ، فَمَا مَضَتْ عِشْرُونَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى مَاتَ مُشْرِكًا .
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My father Husayn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: What do you say about a man who used to maintain ties of kinship and honour guests, and who died before you? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My father and your father are both in the Fire." Not even twenty nights had passed before he died in a state of polytheism.
