حصين بن عتبة أبو عمران بن الحصين الخزاعي وقد اختلف في إسلامه قيل أسلم ويقال مات على كفره، والصحيح أنه أسلم

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا شَبِيبُ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، ح وَثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، أَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، ح وَثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، قَالَ: حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّ الْحُصَيْنَ أَبَا عِمْرَانَ بْنَ الْحُصَيْنِ الْخُزَاعِيَّ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُشْرِكٌ قَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ «عَبْدُ الْمُطَّلِبِ كَانَ خَيْرًا لِقَوْمِهِ مِنْكَ» فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ
The narrator states: I was told that Husayn, the father of Imran bin Husayn al-Khuza'i, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was still a polytheist at that time. He said: O Muhammad, "Abd al-Muttalib was better for his people than you."
