حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي ضَمْضَمُ بْنُ زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ عَدُوَّكَ الَّذِي إِنْ قَتَلْتَهُ كَانَ لَكَ نُورًا، وَإِنْ قَتَلَكَ دَخَلْتَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَلَكِنَّ أَعْدَى عَدُوِّكَ وَلَدُكَ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْ صُلْبِكَ، ثُمَّ أَعْدَى عَدُوٍّ لَكَ مَالُكَ الَّذِي مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your enemy is not the one who, if you kill him, it becomes light for you, and if he kills you, you enter Paradise. Rather, your greatest enemy is your child who came forth from your loins, and then your greatest enemy is your wealth which your right hand possesses."
